The South African government’s staff establishment consist of sixteen salary levels, or grades. The salaries linked to each of these grades are as follow:
Level 1 is the most primary entry level of employment in the government sector. Due to the requirements of the unaffordable National Minimum Wage Act, cleaners and gardeners are paid approximately six thousand rand per month, or seventeen-two thousand rands per year.
In the South African public sector, Salary Level 3 typically involves entry-level administrative or general worker roles (like administrative assistants). The salary attachment is hundred and sixty thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine rand per annum.
The median for posts on this level in the general economy is between forty-eight and sixty fife thousand rand per year.
Again, there is no productivity considerations, and the South African public service is administratively in a state of utter collapse.

The salary attachment is hundred and eighty-four thousand and twenty-six rands per year. The median for administrative personnel in the general economy, is between hundred and twenty and hundred and fourty thousand rand per year.
