I conduct analyses of the conditions and events that determine the governance risks in the South African environment. This includes political trends, economic trends, governance systems and process and the capacity of public institutions.I have been a public servant, consultant working in the public sector and municipalities, and an academic in Public Administration and Management for more than 30 years. From that perspective, I have gained comprehensive knowledge of, and insights into legislation and governance bureaucracies utilize and apply in the South African public service.I conduct data-based analyses. I consider the results of surveys and polls, and statistical government publications, to conclude trends, risks and possible future scenarios.Additional to my data-based analyses, I also write commentary (in English and Afrikaans) about contemporary political, economic and governance news and events – and the implications thereof for future policies and conditions.My analyses will keep you informed about governance trends and prospects, which provide you with the data, information and insights to do realistic strategic planning and risk analyses.
