Corporate scale is typically measured by market capitalization (total stock value) or annual revenue.
In terms of market capitalisation, 16 of the world’s 20 most valuable companies are currently US-based. This includes the five largest. The largest are NVIDIA, Apple, Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon TSMC. It is only TSMC that is not US-based; it is actually Taiwan-based. The common, or shared, characteristic among these companies, is that it is based on innovation and creativity, the latest paradigms in the economic fibre of the world. These companies operate in the field of high-tech computer sciences and artificial intelligence.
In terms of annual revenues, 13 of the world’s 20 most valuable companies are currently US-based. This includes the four companies in the world generating the most revenue per annum. The five largest are Amazon, Walmart, Apple, United Health and the Saudi-Arabian based oil company Saudi Aramco.
